Beginners won't feel out of place with easily accessible nursery slopes on either side of the village. Once you’ve mastered those snowplough turns, hop on the Hohe Mut gondola and take a few rounds on the gentle, tree-lined blue run beneath the Bruggenboden chairlift.

Ideal for intermediates, the resort offers a wealth of cruisy red and blue runs. The top of the Festkogel gondola offers some prime terrain for carving, and if the snow starts falling, the tree-lined runs near the Steimannbahn chairlift provide great cover.

Advanced skiers, you're in luck. Tackle the Hohe Mut for some of Tyrol's finest moguls or head over to the exhilarating Festkogl ski route when it's freshly powdered. For the best off-piste, check out Königstal, especially if you find yourself on the Hochgurgl side of things.

Snowboarders can breathe easy with the lack of drag lifts. The terrain is mostly on the mellower side, but for those looking to up the ante, head to the snow park near the Steinmannbahn chairlift for some added excitement.

Freeriders will find off-piste heaven, especially with the pristine powder stashes. For the steeper stuff, Sattel’s got you covered. Make a detour to Hochgurgl and hit up Königstal for more off-piste adventures. Just keep an eye on those safety reports.

Youngsters have plenty to keep them entertained beyond the slopes, with options ranging from curling to snowshoe walking. Ice skating and winter walking paths are also solid choices for a day off from skiing.

The après-ski scene in Obergurgl is more contained but lively nonetheless, especially on the mountain where table-dancing is basically a sport. Nederhütte keeps the energy high with live music, while Hexenküche provides a chill atmosphere with cozy rugs and wallet-friendly drinks.
